Kim Norton is an oil and pastel artist creating works on canvas, masonite, and velour paper (for the pastels). She is a self-taught artist who enjoys portraying animals and vineyard scenes through art. An Oklahoma born artist, her love for animals and colors since childhood influences her work today. Her paintings are realistic in nature.

Kim likes to use strong light and shadows with lots of color. She desires to bring the reality of the subject to the viewer in that the viewer feels as if they could reach out and pet the animal portrayed or pick a grape off the vine!

Horses are her favorite animals to paint. Her portraits of horses and other animal subjects has brought her many commission work in which she enjoys. She started doing vineyard scenes in 2004 after a trip to the Sonoma Valley in California. She finds working with the different colors challenging and fun.
