Janet Goodyear has been a painter and printmaker for 25 years. Born in Pensacola, Fla. to a Navy Surgeon she was one of eight children. Always fascinated by arts and humanities, she has traveled extensively throughout Europe, Mexico, Canada and the United States visiting museums and art collections. After receiving a BFA from Indiana University, she continued her studies at the San Francisco Art Institute and the University of New Orleans. She has won numerous awards for printmaking and painting, including being in a museum show sponsored by the Southern Graphics Society that traveled throughout the southeastern United States. Her work is included in many collections and museums throughout the U>S> in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, she came up to Eureka Springs from New Orleans where she has become fascinated with the shapes and patterns of nature. A subject she has always been intrigued by, never has there been such an abundance of material as there is in NW Arkansas.
